                      File Server Resource Management

• FSRM service is introduse in 2008 R2 to 2012.
• FSRM functionality (feature).

1. Storage Quota management.
2. File Screening management.
3. Storage Reports management.

Instaling FSRM service

1. In System server Domain Controller login as administrator.
2. Open the server manager console.
3. click on Add Roles and Features.
4. Click three times next, next, next;
5. Expand files and storage  service
6. Expand files and iSCSI service manager 
7. click on add feature
8. next, next, next, install.

I ). Storage quota management

1. In  System one  server Domain Controller login as administrator
2. Open file server  resource manager
3. Expand Quota management
4. Right click on Quata template and click on create Quota templet.
5. Templet name- Block Image files for user3
6. Space limit 5 GB click on ok
7. Right click on quota and click create a quota 
8. one new window will open.
9. Quota path 
10. E:\Home\%username%
11. select the quota templet
12. Block Image file for  user3 click creat.

Verification

• In System two client computer login user3
• open the computer and check the home folder network size-5GB.

II ). File Screening Management

1. In System one Domain Controller login as administrator.
2. open the FMRS service.
3. Right click on the file server Resource manager and click on configure options.
4. Select file Screen Audit tab check  the box record file Screening Activity in auditing database and click on ok
5. Expand file screening management.
6. right click on file screen templets and click on create file screen templet
7. wright templet name.
8. Block image file for user3.
9. check the box Image files and click on ok.
10. right click on file screens and click create file screen.
11. file screen path E:\Home
12. select file screen template block image file for user three-time ok, ok, ok and click create.

Verification

In System2 client computer login as user- user3.

open the Home folder Network drive and try to create a new bitmap image file - deny permission.

III). Storage Report management.

1. In System1 server DC.
2. open FMRS.
3. right click on storage report management and click on ok generate report now.
4. Check the box file screening audit
5. select scop tab
6. click on add 
7. Expand E drive and select a Home folder and click three times ok, ok, ok.
8. Open the HTML domain file and check the details.
